Frequently asked questions
Is the AI image generator free?
Yes, with a daily cap. Anyone with an OpenTools account gets 10 images a day, and OpenTools Pro raises that to 50. Every image you create is saved to your personal library, where you can download, favourite or delete it.
How does text-to-image AI work?
Text-to-image models learn the link between words and pictures from huge collections of captioned images. Most start from random noise and refine it step by step into a picture that matches your prompt, so specific details about subject, style, lighting and framing give better results.
What are reference images for?
They let you guide a generation with pictures as well as words, for example to match a style, keep a character consistent or edit an existing photo. You can add up to six, though not every model accepts them, and the tool warns you when yours does not.
What happens to my prompts and images?
Your prompt and any reference images go to our server, which sends them to the AI model you picked. Reference uploads and finished images are saved to our storage, and your creations stay in your library until you delete them.
Which models can I use?
Dozens, grouped into families such as FLUX, Seedream, Qwen, Imagen, GPT-Image, Ideogram and Stable Diffusion. Pick a family, then a model, since they differ in style, speed, how well they handle text and whether they accept reference images.
